Indicators of Teen Sexual Abuse

Teen Warning Signs:

Behaviors exhibited in potentially unsafe people:
Individually they may not be significant but as part of a pattern of behaviors they may be considered warning signals of a potentially abusive person.

  • Anyone who repeatedly goes beyond the limits set for your relationship
  • Anyone who makes you feel as if the things you want, and that your feelings, are not important
  • Anyone who must always be in control.  You may think of that person as a “control freak”
  • Anyone who puts you down constantly.  This person may make you feel stupid by constantly putting down your ideas
  • Anyone who is very jealous or possessive.  This person tries to tell you what to wear, how to dress, and with whom you may associate.
  • Anyone who does not communicate well with others. These individuals may either “stuff” their feelings an not be willing to tell you how they feel or they may outwardly display anger in a physical and frightening way
  • Anyone who stereotypes others an fees he/she needs to live up to a “macho” image
  • Anyone who see women as weak and worthless, or as sexual objects

  • Anyone who has threatened you in the past
